Paul Whitehead
Artist - Photographer

Photo shoot in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia
I am an Australian award winning artist who has had very little formal training, and became a full time practitioner in 2008 whilst I lived and worked in London. I was the resident artist for 4 years in The New City Gallery, a boutique gallery in the London Bridge area.

I enjoy challenging the traditions of conventional art making, and have developed my own ‘watercolour on linen’ technique. I love to work in various mediums, with oil, charcoal and traditional watercolour on paper being my preference. Portraiture and Landscapes (rural and urban) are my preferred subject matter … but I have been known to create the occasional abstract.

Splitting my time between Adelaide and London provides me with ample inspiration and I love to paint ‘plein air’ when possible.

I have won awards for my photography and specialise in panoramic and travel images.

Over the years I have held numerous Solo Exhibitions and been involved in many Group Shows in both my home town of Adelaide and my adopted city of London. Some of my work is displayed at Art @ Auburn, an art collective in South Australia's Clare Valley, where I am one of the 20+ members.

I've been commissioned to create various works … art, photography, signs and murals … Please contact me if you are interested in discussing a commission.
